Inspired by our lush “Sombre” (dark) Juan de Fuca Marine trail that leads to Sombrio beach with its’ wild surfing waves waterfalls, caves, evergreen forest, and dramatic mossy rock formations. Silohuetes of figures in wetsuits on the waves or warming by the wood fires.

In house co distilled essential oils, absolutes & tinctures from our perfumers garden and from the wild.

Opening with white sage, bergamot, lime, howood & juniper berries.

Morphing into a heart of wild flowers, herbs & evergreens. leather marine notes seaweed absolute with a touch of Nootka rose to round and soften. A woody base of salved Nootka cypress and western red cedarwood.

It’s dry down are lingering, rugged sexy animalic and musky castoreum, ambrette, loamy moss, earthy balsamic porchini mushroom, vetiver, patchouli, dark exotic oud, black hemlock & salty ambergris.

***current batch is with a touch of rose & leathery fougère base. Sombrio is distilled with different types of wood each batch. We salvage fallen branches, needles or washed up exotic woods from the seashore. This year, it is Nootka Cypress and Western Red Cedarwood.
